Charges Associated With Screen Printing:
Many people call and ask us "how much for a printed shirt?". Our reply is that we can not answer this question until we know the details of the project. The variables that go into each project are as follows.
1. Price of Garment: Garment is charged separately and each garment you choose from our catalog will have its own individual price associated with it. Not all garments are the same so we have to know what you would like to wear before we can move past this step or give you a price.
2. Artwork: Please click here for a complete explanation of our art guidelines.
3. Set-Up Charge: For each color and location a new client will pay $20 for the screens and $10.00 for the film. That's $30.00 per location and color for your first run. Repeat orders do not pay the film charge at all and the screen charge is 50% off. If your project is very complex, we can work up a special custom price that will be more economical for you. We want to work with you and are willing to negotiate certain projects if the set-ups are too impractical.
4. Ink Cost: This is the cost for the actual printing of your garments. If you know exactly how many shirts, how many colors and how many locations you need printed, we can give you a price before your project begins. Otherwise, we can not give you a price with any accuracy.
SCREEN PRINTING DEFINED:
Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.
Screen printing is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as "silk screening" or "serigraphy".
